The EHS Supervisor will partner with the plant leadership team in order to reach the organization’s most important goal of keeping employees safe. The EHS Supervisor will also be responsible for guiding the team to ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulatory requirements and Masonite corporate EHS policies and guidelines.

The EHS Supervisor will establish and maintain an effective system of communication within the organization, developing effective working relationships with the safety committee, department managers, plant manager, and employees.

This position has a direct reporting relationship to the Plant Manager. The EHS Supervisor must develop a strong cooperative relationship with the Plant leadership team.

Key accountabilities are as follow:

  • Execute Masonite’s safety programs.
  • Identify, scope, and facilitate execution of safety improvement projects.
  • Schedule and implement safety training for all employees.
  • Focus on injury and worker’s compensation cost reduction.
  • Design and direct a program to achieve world-class safety performance.
  • Ensure compliance with governmental and company Environmental, Health and safety regulations and policies.
  • Evaluate, assess, and alter safety procedures and policies for the benefit of employees.
  • Lead injury and incident investigations and root cause analysis.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in related field – Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety/Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Engineering, Management.
  • Five years related experience in a manufacturing environment, or proven experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate.
  • Must possess effective written & verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Software.
  • Working knowledge of worker compensation, Federal, State & Local Environmental Regulations, OSHA, NFPA, NEC, ACGIH.
  • Experience with Lean Operating Systems.
  • Experience influencing, training, and leading teams.
