The Forklift Operator works in the manufacturing plant to meet production, quality, and service delivery goals. The Forklift Operator will work through effective utilization of resources and is responsible for meeting or exceeding customer expectations through coordination and value based leadership of manufacturing processes, organization and lean processes.
- Conduct pre-shift inspection of the forklift to ensure safety and operational compliance
- Change batteries in forklifts as required
- Provide safe operation of forklift throughout the facility.
- Abide by all safety rules and regulations required with forklift operation
- Pull all production wrap lines as required
- Scan all doors into the warehouse using Masterpack system Consolidate all orders for shipping
- Replace 4 x 4’s as necessary to maintain a safe working environment
- Follow all operational and safety SOP’s as written
- Must understand all shipping documents in order to understand the space required for product
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Job requirements
- High School diploma is required
- 3-5 years of manufacturing experience required, preferably in the building products, construction or automotive markets
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; pull/push boxes of product on/off line and or pallets
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Basic training in Lean Sigma principles
- Good interpersonal, organizational, communication and mechanical skills required
- Ability to work varying shifts and overtime depending on business needs
